Olivia Cash Agle was born and raised in the mountains of north Georgia. Her interest in art developed in her later years of high school. She made the decision to attend Georgia Southern University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. At GSU, she studied a variety of different mediums including photography, ceramics, and metal smithing.
While on her summer break in 2004, Olivia attended Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. The flameworking class was under the instruction of Masami Koda. During this class, her fascination with glass blowing grew. She was determined to pursue her interest in blown glass.
After graduation in December of 2004, Olivia decided to pursue a career in glass blowing. She found her way to Hannah’s Glass Shop at Stone Mountain Park where she began her apprenticeship under the nurturing eye of master glassblower, Allen Bush. During the spring of 2005, she had the opportunity to return to Penland School of Crafts to study with Eddie Bernard. Olivia finished her apprenticeship at Stone Mountain Park in the fall of 2005 and now continues work full time as their senior glassblower. |
